Every BLAC intern earns a real paycheck at or above market rate for agency internships for the full twelve weeks. Talent shouldn’t have to be rich to get a start in this business.
You’re matched with one host agency and you work there. Meetings, client calls, pitches. Your name in the credits, not on a certificate.
The whole national cohort gathers twice a week for professional development and community. When the summer ends, you join an alumni network that keeps opening doors. Over 300 people strong so far.
The BLAC internship is a twelve-week summer program that pays, trains, and places emerging talent in leading agencies across the country. Interns participate in shared experiences with shared resources and projects, and upon completion of the program, become part of a network of peers and industry leaders who will continue to provide support throughout their careers.
BLAC 2027 will run May 17 – August 6
May 17 – May 21
You start with an onboarding day at your host agency, then join the national cohort for four days of programming – how advertising works, what the jobs actually are, and conversations with more industry leaders than most people meet in their first five years.
May 24 – July 21
Eight and a half weeks of the real thing. You train in your role, sit in meetings, listen in on client calls, and help with pitches. Twice a week, the national cohort comes back together for courses, professional development sessions, and time in community.
July 22 – July 30
Brand reps brief you. You and your team develop creative and pitch it back to leading national brands. It’s the most demanding week and a half of the summer, and the one alumni talk about most.
August 2 – August 6
Workshops, guest speakers, and time to sharpen your resume and portfolio, then interviews and info sessions with agencies and brands who want to connect with you.
Host agencies open their floors, briefs, and culture to BLAC interns every summer.
Portfolio schools help you build a book. Bootcamps simulate agency work. Both can be great. BLAC does something different: we pay you to do the actual job inside an actual agency, and we surround you with a cohort and a community while you do it.
You leave with experience on your resume, work you helped make, and people who will pick up the phone when you call.
